Fairmont scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Bishop Hartley Hawks by a score of 65-62. While losing is never fun, the Firebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Hawks are ranked 56th).

Fairmont is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5. As for Bishop Hartley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairmont will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Northmont at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Bishop Hartley, they will square off against Hamilton Township at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
