Recap: Sandy Creek Cougars vs. Fillmore Central Panthers
Even though the Sandy Creek Cougars have not done well against the Fillmore Central Panthers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Sandy Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Fillmore Central and snuck past 42-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sandy Creek.
Sandy Creek was led to victory by Ryleigh Skalka and Emma Fisher. Skalka scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, while Fisher scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Sandy Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-15 record this season. As for Fillmore Central, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Sandy Creek will take on Superior at TBD on Thursday. Hopefully Sandy Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. As for Fillmore Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Sutton on Friday. Sutton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fillmore Central in Nebraska (Sutton is ranked 96th, while Fillmore Central is ranked 233rd).
