Recap: Winston County Yellowjackets vs. Carbon Hill Bulldogs
The Winston County Yellowjackets were the 46-29 winner over the Carbon Hill Bulldogs when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Winston County lost to Carbon Hill on the road by a decisive 54-38 margin on Tuesday. Winston County's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it six in a row.
Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lynleigh Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Cobb scored a full 28.9% of Winston County's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ella Kennedy, who scored 3 points.
Winston County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Carbon Hill, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winston County will challenge Hackleburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carbon Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Fayette County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fayette County is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
