Volleyball Recap: Chequamegon Wins Going Away Against Assumption

Chequamegon hadn't done well against Assumption recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Screaming Eagles put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 3-0 win. The Screaming Eagles were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Royals, so the Screaming Eagles were just returning the favor.

Abagail Brenholt was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 14 digs and two assists.

Chequamegon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Assumption still got an impressive performance from Carleigh Halbersma, who had 13 digs.

Chequamegon's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 16-16. As for Assumption, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

Chequamegon has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Phillips on the 16th. As for Assumption, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Wild Rose on the 16th.
