Baseball Recap: Falkner Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Falkner can now relate to. They came up short against West Union on Thursday, falling 12-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, Falkner couldn't push the score so high this time.

Falkner saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Mauney, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Mauney has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

With the loss, Falkner broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-11. As for West Union, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-12.

While Falkner had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
