Baseball Game Preview: Richland Northeast Cavaliers vs. Camden Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Richland Northeast will face off against Camden. The Cavaliers are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Richland Northeast has now lost 17 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 28.

Richland Northeast came up short against Camden on Tuesday, falling 14-1.

For Camden's part, Thomas Bishop made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bishop was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dustin Bixby, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Camden: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Mac Mellichamp was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Camden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Richland Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17.
