Volleyball Preview: Mumford Mustangs vs. Snook Bluejays
Mumford and Snook are an even 4-4 against one another since August of 2014, but not for long. The Mumford Mustangs will stay at home for another game and welcome the Snook Bluejays at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mumford will be strutting in after a victory while Snook will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, everything went Mumford's way against Normangee as Mumford made off with a 3-0 win.
A big factor in the win was Mumford's feisty defense: they held Normangee to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-11, 25-10.
Mumford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashlen Sloan, who had eight aces, seven digs, a kill, and a kill. The dominant performance gave Sloan a new career-high in aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Nancy Galvan, who had ten digs.
