Basketball Recap: Salem Hills Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Salem Hills had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 44-34 victory over the Cedar Valley Aviators. This was a revenge game for the Skyhawks: when they faced off against the Aviators two weeks ago, they had to take a 56-45 defeat.

It was another big night for Chenielle Nye, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 boards. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Brooke Warren was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Salem Hills is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points over those games. Cedar Valley's loss dropped their record down to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Salem Hills and West will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Cedar Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
