Basketball Game Preview: Lapeer Lightning vs. Swartz Creek Dragons

The Lapeer Lightning will take on the Swartz Creek Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Lapeer took a blow against Davison, falling 70-43. The Lightning haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Swartz Creek beat Holly 51-39 on Friday. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Bronchos are ranked 572nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Swartz Creek has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Lapeer, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Lapeer strolled past Swartz Creek when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 46-32. Does Lapeer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Swartz Creek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
