Preview: Choctaw County Chargers vs. Ethel Tigers
Choctaw County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Ethel Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Choctaw County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Ethel likes a good challenge.
Choctaw County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Starkville Academy on Tuesday as Choctaw County made off with a 64-43 win.
Among those leading the charge was Caleb Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Jakarius Weaver was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ethel took a serious blow against J.Z. George two weeks ago, falling 63-24.
Their wins bumped Choctaw County to 4-1 and Starkville Academy to 6-2.
Everything went Choctaw County's way against Ethel in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Choctaw County made off with a 57-37 victory. Will Choctaw County repeat their success, or does Ethel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
