Basketball Recap: Dixon Bulldogs vs. Lejeune Devil Pups
Dixon lost against Lejeune two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Dixon Bulldogs lost 62-41 to the Lejeune Devil Pups. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 losses in a row.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Langston, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Noah Wright was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Lejeune's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devon Charles led the charge by posting 21 points along with eight boards and four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Charles has scored at least a third of Lejeune's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Dorelien, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.
Dixon's record now sits at 1-12. As for Lejeune, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5.
Dixon will venture away from home to face off against Croatan at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lejeune, they will welcome Pamlico County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lejeune is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
