Football Recap: West Point Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

West Point's game on Thursday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 24-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brewer Patriots. The Warriors lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 35-0 score last time.

Despite the loss, West Point still got an impressive performance from Ollie Howell, who rushed for 118 yards. Howell's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 118 rushing yards.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere three yards per carry. The team can thank Christopher Skipper for the heroic effort on defense: he. West Point's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.5.

A big part of Brewer's win came down to the chemistry between Cole Drinkard and his top target Hunter Knighten. Drinkard rushed for 44 yards and one score while Knighten picked up 81 receiving yards and one TD. Drinkard's passing game has become a key predictor of Brewer's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-5 otherwise. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Elijah Alexander, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

West Point's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5. As for Brewer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
