Basketball Game Preview: Downtown Doral Dolphins vs. Reagan Bison

Having just played yesterday, the Downtown Doral Dolphins will head out on the road to face off against the Reagan Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Downtown Doral hasn't scored more than 24 points for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, Downtown Doral came up short against Divine Savior Academy and fell 36-23.

While Reagan didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against South Miami by a score of 27-20 back in December of 2024.

Reagan found their leader in sophomore Mariangel Perez, who posted ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Perez a new career-high in boards. Sophia Naranjo-Palma was another key player, putting up six points along with six steals and five boards.

Reagan's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Downtown Doral, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Downtown Doral came out on top in a nail-biter against Reagan when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 35-32. Does Downtown Doral have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reagan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
