Baseball Game Preview: Burlington Demons vs. Greendale Panthers

The Burlington Demons will venture away from home to challenge the Greendale Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Burlington took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Kettle Moraine, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Demons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Lasers on Thursday.

Trey Kerkhoff was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kerkhoff was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Kerkhoff wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Tomczyk, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Aiden Dow was another, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Meanwhile, Greendale gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against Waukesha South as they made off with a 14-4 win.

Burlington might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Greendale when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Demons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
