Softball Game Preview: Millis Mohawks vs. Hopkinton Hillers

Millis hasn't had much luck against Hopkinton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mohawks will head out to challenge the Hillers at 6:30 p.m. Millis will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Wednesday, Millis beat Holliston 6-3. That's two games straight that the Mohawks have won by exactly three runs.

Mia Vasta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Emilia Leach was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Molly Rand was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Millis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holliston only posted a batting average of .231.

Meanwhile, Hopkinton came up short against Milford on Thursday and fell 5-1. The match marked the Hillers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hopkinton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Millis, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Millis couldn't quite get it done against Hopkinton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can the Mohawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
