Baseball Recap: Highland Scots vs. Independence Falcons

Highland came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Independence Falcons 13-7. The victory was just what Highland needed coming off of an 11-1 loss in their prior matchup.

On Independence's side, Julian Nevarez and Ivan Caldera did some serious damage despite the final result: Nevarez went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI, while Caldera scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Eduardo Aguirre, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Highland's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9. As for Independence, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
