Lowell (Mich.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 2 in Michigan, but was stunned by
Muskegon (Mich.), 28-21. Muskegon was ranked at No. 3 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Michigan coming into the week.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the second quarter, the Big Reds led 14-7 at the half.
Muskegon expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored once in the quarter on a passing touchdown.
The Big Reds were ahead by as much as 14 before the Red Arrows pulled closer.
A 15-13 Muskegon victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Lowell defeated Mona Shores 34-24 last week.
