The Credo Gryphon are taking a road trip to take on the Point Arena Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Credo made easy work of Calistoga and carried off a 26-9 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gryphon.
Giada Saechao made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Saechao was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Aliana Martinez and Delaney Lannert did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Lannert went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Lannert continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Ellie Russell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Credo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, while Point Arena put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Tomales. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Braves. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won three in a row.
Alexa Ferreyra was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Montserrat Cruz, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Point Arena now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Credo, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Credo has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Point Arena struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Credo might still be hurting after the 33-23 loss they got from Point Arena in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Gryphon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
