Baseball Recap: New Roads Wins Going Away Against Bolsa Grande

New Roads won the last time they faced Bolsa Grande and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the New Roads Jaguars' way against the Bolsa Grande Matadors as the New Roads Jaguars made off with a 16-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Xavier Walker made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Hayden Farrell-Katseanes was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Matthew Linares, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

New Roads always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bolsa Grande only posted an OBP of .400.

New Roads' record is now 2-0.

New Roads has already played their next game, an 8-1 loss against Rio Hondo Prep on the 25th. As for Bolsa Grande, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-5 win against Los Amigos on the 22nd.
