Basketball Game Preview: Wabash Apaches vs. Tipton Blue Devils

The Wabash Apaches will square off against the Tipton Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wabash has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 12 straight losses, while Tipton will come in with five straight wins.

Wabash is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Logansport last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Wabash lost 56-31 to Logansport. The Apaches were down 45-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Wabash saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jarrett Mcwhirt went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Wabash smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Tipton was able to grind out a solid victory over Bethesda Christian on Saturday, taking the game 51-40. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Patriots are ranked 287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tipton pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Wabash, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
