Basketball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Spring Woods Tigers, falling 52-22. While losing is never fun, the Marlins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1595th, while the Tigers are ranked 668th).

Anjalena Salazar was her usual excellent self, going 8 of 15 en route to 15 points in addition to six boards and four steals for Spring Woods. Salazar is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brittany Bargas, who posted six points along with six assists and six steals.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Spring Woods, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.

Madison will take on Waltrip at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spring Woods, they are taking a road trip to square off against Sterling at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
