Basketball Recap: North Iredell Comes Up Short

North Iredell lost against Hickory back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The North Iredell Raiders fell to the Hickory Red Tornadoes 67-63. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while the Red Tornadoes are ranked 92nd).

North Iredell dropped their record down to 7-14 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Hickory, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Iredell will welcome Statesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Statesville has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three matches. As for Hickory, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Iredell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Iredell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.8 points per game this season.
