Volleyball Recap: NCSSM: Morganton Comes Up Short

If NCSSM: Morganton was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sugar Creek Charter on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dragons came up short against the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots on Wednesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12, 25-18.

Shelby Ostrander was the offensive standout of the contest as she had five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

NCSSM: Morganton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

NCSSM: Morganton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they will be playing at home against Carolina International at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
