Volleyball Recap: McAllen Bulldogs vs. Round Rock Westwood Warriors
McAllen's tournament run continued when they took on Round Rock Westwood on Friday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Isabella Rivera paced McAllen's offense, picking up 13 kills. Rivera got some help from Saige Curl and her 17 assists. Kaylen Ottmers controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Round Rock Westwood can attribute much of their success to Emily Xue, who had 16 assists and nine digs. Those nine digs gave Xue a new career-high.
McAllen's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Round Rock Westwood, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-17 record.
Coincidentally, McAllen and Round Rock Westwood will both be playing Liberty Hill the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Panthers at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 4:15 p.m.
