Basketball Recap: Pineville Comes Up Short

Pineville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Neville Tigers, falling 62-40. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Tigers are ranked 49th).

Pineville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-23. As for Neville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pineville will welcome Alexandria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neville, they will take on Rayville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Rayville likes a good challenge.
