Football Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Takes a Loss

Somerset Sky Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions, falling 36-6. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alina Olson threw for 40 yards and one touchdown. Araya Brown was her top target, picking up 34 receiving yards. On the ground, Faith Hobbs rushed for 43 yards.

Somerset Sky Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sierra Vista, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Sky Pointe will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cheyenne at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, Sierra Vista and Desert Oasis will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Sierra Vista is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 47.2 points per game this season.
