Basketball Recap: Sterne Takes a Loss

Sterne lost against Burton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sterne Dolphins lost to the Burton Pumas on the road by a 55-39 margin.

When it comes to explaining why Sterne lost, don't look at Andrew Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Jones is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Matt Prescott, who posted seven points and four steals.

Sterne's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Burton, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sterne will welcome June Jordan School of Equity at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against O'Connell at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
