Volleyball Recap: Bloomfield Comes Up Short

Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loogootee Lions. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in September of 2021.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-13.

Loogootee was led to victory by Jocelynn Sims and Lauren Nolan. Sims had nine digs and two aces, while Nolan had five digs. Nolan also served an ace, marking her first of the season.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Loogootee, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Coincidentally, Bloomfield and Loogootee will both be playing Evansville Mater Dei the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will head out to face the Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
