Basketball Recap: Temple Christian Tigers vs. Cornerstone Christian Academy Cougars
After a string of three wins, the Temple Christian Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cornerstone Christian Academy. Temple Christian lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 80-45 score last time.
It was another big night for Joseph Lemmon, who scored 25 points for Cornerstone Christian Academy. Lemmon is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Lemmon, who scored ten points.
Temple Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Temple Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Sandhills Classical Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 541st, while the Cougars are ranked 219th).
