Softball Recap: Taylorsville Comes Up Short

Taylorsville and Olympus squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Taylorsville had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since March 28, 2024.

Jaelyne Zapata put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Amari Aguila stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double. Demi Miller was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Taylorsville and nudges their season record down to 19-10. As for Olympus, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Taylorsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Olympus, they will take on Box Elder at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Titans 3.7, the Bees 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
