Cocoa Beach's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Edgewood Red Wolves by a score of 49-42. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Red Wolves recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Cocoa Beach found their leader in sophomore Tristan Louis, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. Louis also put up two assists, which were his first of the season. Jude Mohr-Bollinger was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Cocoa Beach smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Several Red Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eddie Monterrubio, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Monterrubio has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Manan Patel, who posted five points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Cocoa Beach's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Edgewood, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Cocoa Beach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-41 victory against Trinity Prep on the 1st. As for Edgewood, they have also already played their next game, a 70-32 defeat against Heritage on the 25th.
