Baseball Recap: Wando Drops Season-High Score on Cane Bay

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wando). They walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Cane Bay Cobras on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Cobras last Wednesday, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

Caleb Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Wando got a massive performance out of Brady Gold, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Gold a new career-high. Jake DiMartino was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Wando now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Cane Bay, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wando will welcome Berkeley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cane Bay, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. The Knights will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Cobras surely won't give up without a fight.
