Basketball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

After flying high against Clinton last Friday, Monroe came back down to earth. The Monroe Cheesemakers fell just short of the Milton Red Hawks by a score of 73-70 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cheesemakers have suffered since January 4th.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Milton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Monroe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-40 victory against East Troy on the 11th. As for Milton, they will face off against Monona Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Milton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Monona Grove likes a good challenge.
