Recap: Grandview Zebras vs. Malakoff Tigers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Grandview Zebras can now relate to. They took a serious blow against the Tigers on Friday, falling 42-7. Grandview's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
Malakoff's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jerrion Hall led the charge by rushing for 112 yards and three touchdowns. Hall has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Mike Jones was another key contributor, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Malakoff, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Grandview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Malakoff will be playing in front of their home fans against Winnsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Winnsboro is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
