North Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 26-16 to the Canton Eagles. The Panthers lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in September of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 47-6 score last time.

North Lamar lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Corbin Blease, who threw for 189 yards and a touchdown while completing 72.7% of his passes.

North Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Canton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

North Lamar will be playing at home against Mineola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Lamar is facing Mineola at the right time seeing as Mineola is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Canton, they will head out to face off against Mabank at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
