Football Recap: Silverado Comes Up Short

Silverado lost against Green Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Silverado Skyhawks lost 32-7 to the Green Valley Gators. The Skyhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-0.

A big part of Green Valley's victory came down to the chemistry between Janae Peebles and her top target Lyla Baxter. Peebles threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns while Baxter picked up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kyndle Harris got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Silverado has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Green Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season.

Silverado has already played their next contest (against Shadow Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Green Valley will face off against Del Sol at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Green Valley is facing Del Sol at the right time seeing as Del Sol is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
