Basketball Recap: Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars vs. Barnwell Warhorses

The Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars came into Friday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 56-52 W over Barnwell on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ridgeland-Hardeeville also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Ridgeland-Hardeeville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jabien Harris, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Harris is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. Kalen Riddles was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.

Despite the loss, Barnwell saw an underclassman step up: Vashahd Scofield scored 24 points. Scofield has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Henri Creech, who scored ten points.

Ridgeland-Hardeeville's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Barnwell, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Ridgeland-Hardeeville will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Edisto is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Barnwell will take on the Wolverines at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Woodland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warhorses in South Carolina (the Wolverines are ranked 64th, while the Warhorses are ranked 245th).
