Softball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to the Poynette Pumas. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pumas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 on April 8th.

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Poynette, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will head out to face off against Brodhead at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Brodhead will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Columbus surely won't give up without a fight. As for Poynette, they are taking a road trip to take on Lakeside Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
