Basketball Game Preview: Rough Rock Sun Devils vs. El Capitan Eagles

The Rough Rock Sun Devils will face off against the El Capitan Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rough Rock has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 5.

Rough Rock's tournament run continued when they took on Show Low two weeks ago. Rough Rock was outmatched by Show Low and fell 85-37.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Capitan). They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Grand Canyon 98-34. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Rough Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for El Capitan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Rough Rock took a serious blow against El Capitan when the teams last played back in January of 2017, falling 92-65. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rough Rock was down 49-29.
