Marion Local gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Spencerville Bearcats. The Flyers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bearcats, too.

Trey Brookhart looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bryant Meier, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ethen Osterholt, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Spencerville dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
