Basketball Recap: Oxford Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Oxford had won three straight games and Jaylen Alexander did his part to make it four on Tuesday. The Oxford Yellow Jackets blew past the Pell City Panthers, posting an 82-44 win thanks in part to Alexander, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points along with eight boards and five assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Jayden Lewis, who went 7 of 10 en route to 17 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (three).

Oxford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Pell City, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

Coincidentally, Oxford and Pell City will both be playing Shades Valley the next time they take the court. Oxford will host Shades Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Pell City will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
