Preview: Appleton City Bulldogs vs. Drexel/Miami

After two games on the road, Appleton City is heading back home. After each having a week off, the Appleton City Bulldogs and The Drexel/Miami will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on November 3rd.

Appleton City can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Jasper 56-8 on the road. The victory was just what Appleton City needed coming off of a 58-22 loss in their prior matchup.

Cash Anderson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 249 yards and six touchdowns on only nine carries. Garrett Davis made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, Drexel/Miami came up short against St. Paul Lutheran on Friday and fell 72-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (52), Drexel/Miami still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Drexel/Miami had strong showings from Kolbi Nichols, who picked up 271 receiving yards and five touchdowns, and Aj Gunnels, who threw for 330 yards and five touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Munter, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

Even if they lost, Drexel/Miami's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: St. Paul Lutheran's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. St. Paul Lutheran's QB won't forget Cole Kimbrough anytime soon given Kimbrough sacked him four times.

Appleton City's win lifted them to 7-2 while Drexel/Miami's defeat dropped them down to 6-3.

Appleton City took their victory against Drexel/Miami in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 72-52. Does Appleton City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Drexel/Miami turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
