Basketball Game Preview: Newport Cubs vs. Molalla Indians

The Newport Cubs will head out to challenge the Molalla Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newport will be strutting in after a win while Molalla will be coming in after a loss.

Newport took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 60-48 victory over Estacada.

Meanwhile, Molalla came up short against Creswell on Friday and fell 46-39.

Newport's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Molalla, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Newport couldn't quite finish off Molalla when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 51-48. Can Newport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
