After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Vega, Mexia was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Mexia Black Cats who were credited with the victory. The Mexia Black Cats got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the China Spring Cougars's two. The Black Cats' winning goal came courtesy of Jason Avila.

Mexia is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those five matches. This is the second loss in a row for China Spring and nudges their season record down to 12-9-1.

As of now, neither Mexia nor China Spring have any future games scheduled.
