Basketball Recap: Mendon Drops Highest Score of Season Against Pansophia Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mendon). They really took it to the Pansophia Academy Pansophia Pumas for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-25 victory. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Mendon was led to victory by Owen Gorham and Ryder Gorham. Owen almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine steals, while Ryder made all 8 shots he took racking up 22 points and six assists. The contest was Ryder's fifth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Wilczynski, who on his way to 11 points.

Despite the loss, Pansophia Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Greyson Tomlinson posted six points along with ten boards and five steals. Tomlinson has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played. Blake Reed was another key player, putting up six points.

Mendon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points over those games. Pansophia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

As of now, neither Mendon nor Pansophia Academy have any future games scheduled.
