Baseball Recap: Whitko Takes a Loss

Whitko's last matchup with Rochester could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Wildcats came up short against the Zebras, falling 13-3. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Zebras recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Riley Harman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Whitko: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Easton Grable, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Whitko now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Rochester, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-5.

Looking ahead, Whitko will face off against Peru at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rochester, they will challenge LaVille at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
