Volleyball Game Preview: Marshall Lions vs. Newton Eagles

Marshall is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Newton is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lions will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marshall will be strutting in after a win while Newton will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Marshall earned a 2-0 victory over Red Hill.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Marshall took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Newton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Mt. Carmel by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Newton sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-23, 17-25, 25-11.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Newton, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-11.
