Softball Recap: Southwest Christian School Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Midland Christian, Southwest Christian School was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Fort Worth Christian Cardinals 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Evan Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karis Jones, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Rachel Swenson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

Southwest Christian School pushed their record up to 15-5-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Worth Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Southwest Christian School will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
