Smithson Valley took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Pieper, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rangers skirted past the Warriors 4-2.

Smithson Valley's win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Pieper, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Smithson Valley is set to take on their familiar foe New Braunfels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pieper will square off against rival Boerne-Champion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.1, the Chargers 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
