Baseball Recap: Dexter Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Dexter proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Kennett Indians 4-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bearcats also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Beau Carrier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Dexter's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Howard, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI. Nolan Alford was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

The win was the fourth in a row for Dexter, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kennett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Dexter is taking a road trip to take on Jackson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kennett, they will host Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
